Tavren’s Story!

tavrenTavren was always a really fussy/ colicky baby who never slept longer than 2 hours at night and only napped for about 20 min at a time. I just thought that that was the straw i was dealt and never knew anything was seriously wrong. As he hit about six month i started feeding him solid foods and started with what I thought was healthy. I avoided grains and rice and did the avocados, bananas, squash etc. Things went well for a while until one day about two hours after he ate he just kept projectile puking until he had an Apparent Life Threatening Episode (ALTES). He would turn blue, not make eye contact, and be very limp for a good 3-4 hours. It was so heart breaking. We took him to the doctor and he would just say “oh its severe reflux he will grow outta it”. My gut told me this was wrong but I didn’t know what else to do. I waited a month or so before I gave him anymore food and when I decided to finally try again I gave him one spoonful of something and a few hours later same thing happened only more severe to where he stopped breathing and we had to call 911. We finally got transferred to primary children’s hospital after 3 more episodes because The ER was thinking seizures. This is where He had tests day after day and everything would turn out normal minus high white blood cells. They told me every diagnosis from severe reflux to FPIES with a dozen of other diagnoses in between. They didn’t know what to do with us and said “he would grow out of it”. They had us get a colonoscopy where they noticed some inflammation in his bowels that they had never seen before so they wanted to use him as a Test rat and try steroids to see what it would do at this point. My intuition was telling me RUN!! Long story cut shorter, they sent us to an allergy specialist where this was just my breaking point. We would drive almost 2 hours weekly and spend $1000 each visit for them to feed him full of food just for him to  have an episode (puking drastically and go limp again) for them to give him a sedative and say take him home next week we will try a different food. At this point my husband knew my background of alternative healing and said “I’m not going to another doctor to watch my son go through this. I know you can figure this out! ” . So I stepped outta the fear that if I left the medical community all responsibility is on me and I told myself  I could heal this serious of a situation just as easy as I was already  helping clients heal their little ailments. So that’s where day in and day out I took classes and researched and conquered this horrible situation which in the end turned out to be a very big blessing because I now have a healthy growing child eating whatever he desires with no episodes. I did it I HEALED MY CHILD!!!

I now want to empower other mothers that felt like I did or even have just small issues and don’t feel like the medical community is helping them. I want to guide them through healing and share my brain full of knowledge with them along with helping them learn their child’s onsets of symptoms before it turns into something more serious such as food allergies or disease. My true goal would be to do preventative work when babies first start showing symptoms of not sleeping and reflux. But the sad reality is that a lot of us have to hit rock bottom before trying an alternative approach even if our gut is telling us otherwise! 🙂

Disclaimer: I am not doctor. I am just a mom with years of experience healing adults and children through food and balanced energy. I don’t expect to know everything but I do expect to hold myself accountable to not giving up at helping someone until a solution is found.

  1. It took a lot of courage to go back in time and bring up these emotions again. We have got a lot of judgements from close family, friends and strangers who don’t understand our position of alternative healing, but I felt it was time to step out of fear and give people a glimpse into our journey!
